The Machines...

My primary machine is a Kenmore 117.841 from 1956. She's my baby, that's for sure. It can power right through eight layers of fleece without a hiccup! I'm sure it could do more if I could fit more under the foot. ;) It was a great find in a store that repaired and sold sewing machines and vacuum cleaners and the guy let me have it for $67! A great friend of mine, Vicky, gave me the money for it as an early Christmas present because she's beyond awesome. :D

Before I bought the Kenmore, I used my Brother XL-6562. It's got a lot of fancy features! I decided to get another machine after I had a lot of difficulty going through thicker material. For small projects and plain hammocks, it's great. But for things like pocket hammocks and tubes, I definitely needed more power. I still use it on occasion when I don't feel like fussing with the Kenmore.
